Heat pump
Operating principle
The compressor simply creates a pressure difference. This enables evaporation in the external heat exchanger even at low ambient temperatures and a high condensation temperature for the heat emitter side.
How does it work?
The refrigerant inside the heat exchanger boils (evaporates) at a colder temperature than the surrounding air. The temperature difference results in heat transfer, the refrigerant absorbs the heat energy outside
The expansion valve regulates the flow and quantity of the refrigerant. The bottleneck in it creates high pressure on one side (discharge side from compressor to valve) and low pressure on the other (suction side from valve to compressor)
The refrigerant condenses at high pressure in the plate heat exchanger. This releases thermal energy, which is transferred to the heat emitters (water, air)
